drives me crazy!

I dream of rain

Ok . I’m not in love now, but this is one of my ‘long drive’ songs.
One of my cherished comforts…a long drive ending in neverland.

I was snoozing cozily in the evening some day and my mum pulled me out of bed,saying we got to pack…we’re going out..i was in no mood to do so.the village she mentioned sounded that boring…For a day dear, we’ll be back the day after, she coaxed. deal, I muttered. Packed and dressed the next day morning,we piled into this car,I’m not sure which one.. with this big strong scary looking man at the wheel we knew as ‘driver uncle’. we were off. earphones firmly in place, I was ready for a nap..and then we left the city.15 minutes later, I was fully awake, all traces of sleep gone.

We were on some highway and my mum was saying she couldn’t bear to look at the speedometer….we kids were totally excited.the idea of not knowing where we were,the lovely scenery apparently out of some picturebook..and the speed of course..was more than entertaining…hallelujah,war whooping,singing….everything was on.it was great!! It was even worth going to that village,battling mosquitoes and tummy upsets and being badgered for details of city life.thats another story of course,but the point is, I was hooked to this ‘lambi drive thingy’. Mention a journey and I would be the first to say ‘count me in!’
this traveling has been all types:cars,trains,tractors,jeeps,even bullock carts!! the best being…sitting on the roof of a bus for 2 hours..
I don’t know what happens when u hit the road…some magic in the air,I never feel better.

I’m more of a country bird and I love my solitude…but a long road trip can give u the best. With family or with a whole gang of friends and some real good locales around,what more do u need?just wake up and head out into the horizon! The fun triples when you don’t plan where to go..onto the highway and explore..Just make sure you have some good music,hog at wayside dhabas…everyone agrees that dhabas have some great food! Stop at some spot,have a day’s picnic ..Get back by night…I somehow love the idea!

And now I’m waiting to try a bike trip…


Just a quote I read somewhere…I bet a funny thing about driving a car off a cliff is, while you're in midair, you still hit those brakes. Hey, better try the emergency brake.
